Teatret Vårt (Our Theatre)

Teatret Vårt (Our Theatre) is a Norwegian regional theatre, established in 1972, with its headquarters in Molde, and responsibility for touring all of the county of Møre og Romsdal.

Teatret Vårt (Our Theatre) manages a sub-divition in Ålesund; Barneteatret Vårt (literally: Our Theatre for Children). The theatre for children is mainly to produce theatre for children and youth aged 0-15 years.

Teatret Vårt is organised as a limited liability company and was managed communally until and including 1991. In 1992 Morten Borgersen was hired to lead the theatre, which he did until 1998. Since then the theatre has been led by Edvard Hoem (1998-2000) and Carl Morten Amundsen (2000-2011). The current head of the theatre is Thomas Bjørnager (from 2012).

The Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare was Teatret Vårt (Our Theatre)'s first production, opening the autumn of 1972.

July 14 2012 Plassen, the new culture centre housing Teatret Vårt (Our Theatre), Molde International Jazz Festival, the library of Molde, Møre og Romsdal Art Centre and The Bjørnson Festival, opened in Gørvelplassen in Molde. Plassen (literally: The Place) is designed by the Danish architect firm 3xn.

Formerly the theatre had been based in the cultural venue called Forum.
