Glamour for Goebbels

Glamour for Goebbels by Elsa Aanensen and Øyvind Osmo Eriksen was a theatre performance about the Norwegian movie star Kirsten Heiberg. She had great success in German movies during World War II and recorded a total of 14 movies under the regime of the Nazis. Unlike other foreign movie stars, Heiberg chose to stay in Berlin after the outbreak of the war. This choice became controversial for the time to come.

More

Glamour for Goebbels consisted of scenic poetry after interviews made with Kirsten Heiberg. The scenic expression was a symbiosis of text, song, film clips and physical expressions. As an effect movie and sound recordings of the actress were used, as were songs from the career of Kirsten Heiberg. Glamour for Goebbels discussed Heiberg's choice and researched the consequences and the recognition of this choice.

Glamour for Goebbels by Elsa Aanensen and Øyvind Osmo Eriksen was supported by The Audio Visual Fund, The Fund for Performing Artists, the county of Rogaland and the municipality of Haugesund.
