At the website of Oslo Nye Teater (Oslo New Theatre) the following is written about Fever:

"The production Fever is based on Hamsun's poetry collection The Wild Choir from 1904. The collection consists of 61 poems, including the passionate cycle Fever Poems, written by a 'sick of love and longing' Hamsun.

Based on this fever poetry, actor Gard Bjørnstjerne Eidsvold and the musicians Jon K. Rosslund, Terje Støldal and Terje Johanessen have formed the band Feber (Norwegian for fever, Sceneweb's comment) and made the production by the same title. As Teaterkompaniet now presents Fever we are served a total of twelve songs based on the poems (freshly composed by Terje Johanessen), whereas Gard Eidsvold reads texts from all of Hamsun's oeuvre and shares free associations concerning him as a poet."
