In Korall koral - en babyopera* (Coral Choral - a baby opera) the audience is lured into a tent shaped like a shell, in which two performers with especially made instruments create music and song. After the approximately 20 minutes long performance the children and adults are invited to explore the room and the instruments on their own. The instruments look like creatures from the sea, strange beings such as seahorse harp, a bagpipe tunicate, a glass chime jellyfish and a diplozoon paradoxum flute.

Perhaps we are a place underneath the surface of The Arctic Ocean? Here live creatures we don't know much about. We make sounds that become language and song in a musical game. In this opera there is nothing to explain or understand, and babies and adults have the same capacity to experience.

Korall koral – en babyopera by Hanne Dieserud and Christina Lindgren in collaboration with Maja Solveig Kjelstrup Ratkje was supported by Arts Council Norway, NOTAM, The Fund for Performing Artists, The Audio Visual Fund and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (performing arts/travel grant).
