Centre de développement chorégraphique du Val-de-Marne
In 2006 the association Biennale de danse du Val de Marne, now a dance festival, gained official status as a centre for choreographic development, Centre de Développement Chorégraphique du Val-de-Marne (La Briqueterie CDC du Val-de-Marne).
The Centre de Développement Chorégraphique du Val-de-Marne always works in partnership with theatres and organises actions and performances in favour of choreographic creation. Examples are the festival Biennale de danse du Val-de-Marne, the platform Plateaux, the training facility Accueil studio and the educational program Permanence artistique.

La Briqueterie, an old restored brick factory, opened in 2012. It is a dance factory with three studios and a studio-scene which allows the artists to have time and space to create, and to present different kinds of esthetics, with a priority made to young companies.
There are eleven CDC centres in France, each of them with specific activities.
Each CDC has its own specificity and develops an original project linked to its history and its own local characteristics. The centres have merged in a collective organisation in order to generate new dynamics for dance's sake: development of residencies and policy of coproduction and diffusion of the sheltered companies within their network.
