The Bible

The Bible is the holy book of Christianity.

The Bible consists of two main parts, The Old Testament and The New Testament. The former contains 39 books, the latter 27.

The books of The Old Testament are Jewish writings from the last thousand years B.C, originally written in Hebrew with the exception of some short passages in Aramaic. All of these writings are considered holy within Judaism too.

The books of The New Testament are of Christian origin; they were created during the ancient church's first few centuries, most probably 50-100 A.D., and they were originally written in Greek.
